Math practice for Taiwan’s school exams

Royal Blue Education (御藍教育) is an education company in Taiwan, incorporated in July 2026. We run an online math practice platform for junior-high and senior-high students, and their parents.

  • 2026 founded
  • 10,000+ questions
  • Grades 7–12 math

What we do

  • Practice built around the next school exam

Students set the chapters their next school exam covers, and practice is drawn from that range. Questions they get wrong are scheduled back for review.

  • A worked solution for every question

More than 10,000 questions, each with a worked solution. Questions are rated on a ten-level difficulty scale, anchored to 346 national exam questions with published correct-answer rates.

  • An AI tutor, labelled as AI

Students can ask follow-up questions about the problem in front of them. The tutor is clearly marked as AI, not a human teacher, and students can report a wrong answer.

  • A weekly report for parents

Parents receive a weekly email showing what their child practiced and which topics still need work.

A sample question

Translated from the sample on our home page. In this sample, each wrong choice is shown with the mistake that leads to it. It is rated difficulty 6 of 10.

A school has a triangular flower bed ABC with ∠B = 45° and ∠C = 30°. The gardening club runs an irrigation pipe from vertex A perpendicular to side BC, meeting it at H. The pipe AH is 6 meters long. How long is BC, in meters?

  1. (A) 6√3Only CH was found; the left part BH was left out.
  2. (B) 6 + 3√3CH was taken as √3/2 times AH: the wrong pair of sides in the 30°-60°-90° ratio.
  3. (C) 12Both base angles were treated as 45°, so each part was set equal to the height 6.
  4. (D) 6 + 6√3Correct. The left part is 6 and the right part is 6√3; BC is their sum.
  5. (E) 12 + 6√3The hypotenuse AC = 12 was added in place of the left part BH.

Who uses it

Our users are students in Taiwan aged roughly 12 to 18, and their parents. The site is in Traditional Chinese because that is the language our students are taught and examined in.

How payment works

  • Students receive a free question allowance when they register. No card is needed for it.

  • A monthly subscription is paid one period at a time. The first period is paid on subscribing; three days before each period ends we email the plan name and amount, and the subscription continues only after the parent confirms and pays.

  • Card payments are processed by ECPay, a payment provider in Taiwan. We do not store the full card number.

Subscriptions are paid for by parents; students cannot pay themselves. Prices are in New Taiwan dollars. Subscribers on an earlier recurring card arrangement keep it until it ends or they cancel it. The binding rules are in sections 12 to 14 of our terms of service; plans and prices are on the pricing page (both in Chinese).

Students under 18

From our privacy policy (section 7, addressed to students and parents):

This service is intended primarily for students from grade 7 through grade 12, and most of our users are minors. If you are under 18, please use this service with the knowledge and consent of your legal guardian (a parent or guardian). A legal guardian may at any time request access to, review of, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about that minor. If you discover that your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that data.

The AI tutor shows this notice under its input box whenever the chat is open. Once a conversation has started, a one-click “Report this reply” link appears next to it:

Xiaolan is an AI, not a human teacher, and can get things wrong. Check important steps yourself, and ask a teacher or parent whenever you're unsure.

Founder

Yan Jun Chen

BSc in Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University

Our founder grew up in a low-income household and studied Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University, receiving the university’s 勵學獎學金 scholarship four times. Ten years of one-to-one tutoring shaped the teaching method: break each concept into its smallest parts, and show the student the way to the answer instead of handing it over.

The layered hints, the matched difficulty and the nudge when a student is stuck were all worked out in that tutoring before they were built into the platform.

The platform was first offered publicly in 2026 and does not yet have outcome data of its own. The results on our outcomes page come from the founder’s one-to-one teaching, and are labelled as such.
